Another theme park rumor

This one coming in from Six Flags over Texas though. Apparently the company is planing on making a new indoor ride, though no word on what type it'd be. It should be noted that on the 21st of this month the bumper cars ride over at the park closed, and it's possible that that's where the new ride could be located. If that's the case, then don't expect anything fantastic such as a new roller coaster or fume ride, seeing that it'd be in a tight space.

Rumor - Ratatoullie roller coaster for Disney's Hollywood Studios

This one I'd say is true - Reports are suggesting that Walt Disney Studios has just approved the creation of a Ratatoullie roller coaster for Disney's Hollywood Studio (MGM). The coaster will apparently be a spinning coaster, and will be based off of the recently opened Crush Coaster in Disney Paris. Construction is expected to start in the next six months, and will be next to the currently in-production Toy Story Mania ride.

It should also be noted that it'll be an indoor ride, if the rumors are true that is.

As expected, Universal's price goes up as well...

Earlier in the month Disney raised their prices for their parks by four dollars. It was pretty much a given that Universal would do the same to match their competitor's price, and today they have... No word on whether SeaWorld, which is also in Orlando, have done this yet...

And yes, that picture above is from Universal... You've got to love the four main Universal monsters!

Disney MGM Studios to be renamed the Disney-Hollywood Studios

I don't know why, but I actually expected something like this would happen, though I feel that the name's a bit long. None-the-less, it probably won't effect the park in anyway, though it'll be a hastle for Disney to remove all of the products that say Disney MGM Studios on it.

Child molester arrested at Disneyland Paris

So, get this - A child molester was arrested this week at Disneyland Paris after one of the park's guests spotted him putting itching powder on children, and filming them as they scratched it. Once the police arrested him for obvious reasons, they searched his house, which apparently was full of child pornography.

According to the source below, the 50-year old man sprinkled itching powder on an 11 year old's underwear.

Also, as aforementioned, the man had plenty of child pornography. One video showed him raping his niece, and having sex with other underage minors.

The man will get, at tops 20 years in prison. I personally think that some one who comits such a crime should be in jail for life...

Toy Story Mania update

First off, Toy Story Mania is just an upcoming ride for MGM-Studios at Disney World, and not some, unknown Toy Story movie or show...

Well, apparently the ride will have two seperate tracks, though whether or not they'll just be clones or completley different is yet to be announced. Obviously I'm hoping for the latter, though I'm not getting my hopes up.

More people confirm the existance of Batman Returns at Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Earlier in the week I reported rumors that Batman Returns (a rollercoaster) could appear at Six Flags Fiesta Texas... well, apparently tons of people are saying that it's true, so I'd say it's real!

Six unlucky riders are thrown off of three different rides.

The worst of these events took place in France, when a father and son, 48 years old and 21 years old respectively, were killed when they were thrown off a ride at a fair. Two other riders also fell, though they thankfully lived.

At Coney Island at New York, a 15 year old girl fell off of the Polar Express after her lap bar broke. The next report comes in from Six Flags America, where a six year old fell off the Octopus after standing up. Thankfully, niether of these girls died.

Theme parks? Ehh, more like scream parks! Oh ho ho, Ben, you are quite the comedian...

Today, according to sources, Disney will raise the price of theme park tickets.

Apparently, Disney rised the prices of tickets to go into their parks from $67 to $71. While four dollars may not seem like much, you also have to take into consideration that last year at this time, Disney rised the price by four bucks. This is completely outragious - We go to Disney once a year, and having to pay $32 bucks more than, say, 2 years ago just isn't something to take lightly. You should also expect Disney's competition, which includes Universal Studios and Anheuser-Busch (owner of SeaWorld and Bush Gardens) to do the same.

RUMOR - Batman: The Ride for Six Flags Fiesta Texas?

Rumors are saying that Batman: The Ride peices from Six Flags: New Orleans have been seen over at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, which more than likley indicates a new Batman ride for the park. What are my opinions on this? Usually I'd say something to this scale would be bogus, though the fact that many people are reporting the same thing, and spotting Batman: The Ride tracks, I'd say this is very probable. However, you also have to take into consideration that Sea World: Texas (which was a pretty cool park IMO) has a coaster just like it, and that the closest Six Flags park to Fiesta Texas (which is five hours away apparently) already has a Batman: The Ride.

Once more information on this subject get out, I'll report it.

Theme Park review - Worlds of Fun

This is something that I'm sure not to many people do. I've been to Worlds of Fun countless times, not exactly becasue it's an amazing park, but because it's the only one that's actuall close to where I live. So... LET'S GO!!!

The rides are obviously the most important part of any park, and with that said, Worlds of Fun has enough of them to go on for one day. The most notable of the rides featured include the Mamba, the Patriot, Timber Wolf, and a few others. The former is the best by far, and the Patriot, the newest addition to the park, is purely awesome. The Mamba is a roller coaster that has a 200 foot plunge, and then after going on a few more hills, makes you black out for afew second by going around a large twist.

While the rides may be fun, there's really no theme to any of them, and the lines are by no means interesting. It's a typical theme park, and would never be able to compare to the greats such as Universal Studios or Disney. Many of the rides are just ones that make you want to throw up, and the Boomerang is just horribly designed. The shows are completely forgetable, and to tell the truth, I really couldn't give a fat %*$@ if the dog featured in the dog show was shown on 3 different TV shows...

The flume ride's water seems to be nothing but sewage, and while the train ride may be relaxing, the scenery seen through it is just crappy. The Spinning Dragons, while having the worst line of all time, is actually pretty fun, just make sure that you're not even a little bit sick before going on it, because it'll just make it worse.

The makers did a dubious effort at trying to get the riders wet on the Fury of the Nile, but just to make sure the guests are soaping, they literally drench you with water by pouring it all over you at the end...

The Timeberwolf is a moderate wooden roller coaster, though I've seen ones that are 10 times better at Mount Olympus in Wisconssion.

Overall, if you're looking for a park with lots of rollercoasters and spinning rides, then come and check it out... but I'd reccomend that you'd only do so at night time when it's half price, otherwise you won't be getting your moneys worth. If you're bringing your youngins, then don't worry - They have plenty of rides that will please them, including the reletavely large Camp Snoopy area, and the multiple kids rides that are scattered throughout the park.

Notable Rides

*Mamba: An exciting drop is great, though, as aforementioned, the twist in the middle of the ride makes you black out (literally) for a second or two. - 9/10
*The Patriot - An awesome steel inverted coaster that will in all likely hood (if you don't usually get sick on rides) not make you nauseated. - 8/10
*Spinning Dragons - This ride is fun, but I'd suggest it be the last ride you do, because you may very well get sick from all the spinning. - 6/10
*Boomerang - An (in my opinion) awfully designed ride that makes you go through three different loops and then backwards. I actually threw up a little on this one - 4/10
*Fury of the Nile - A ride that isn't able of getting you wet until it dumps you with water... - 6/10
*Timberwolf - A wooden coaster that, while very shakey, is pretty decent. - 7/10

Overall park grade - 6.5/10

Rumor: New water flume ride at Animal Kingdom

Rumors are suggesting that a new water flume ride will be built at Disney's Animal Kingdom, which will follow their new Everest attraction that was built recently (which happens to be my favorite Disney coaster). Once more information regarding this subject is released, I'll report it!

Mall of America and Great Wolf Resorts unite!

The Mall of America, which is quite possibly the biggest mall in America, has announced a deal with Great Wolf Lodge Resorts! Anyone who's been to the mall should obviously know that they're adding big things to it, and one of those things is an indoor water park created by Great Wolf Lodge resorts. The aforementioned company creates indoor water parks for all of their hotels, and from the one I've been too (Kansas City, Kansas), there pretty good.

Once more information on this news is released, I'll report it.

Theme Park news - July 25, 2007

*Rumors are stating that Disney may, after Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom reopens, call the ride Space Mountain: Mission 2, similar to what they did in Paris, France.

*The Galaxy Orbiter at Galaxyland is now open. Check out an image of the ride to the right.
*According to Parksmania, Plopsa has just announced a new park that will be both indoors and outdoors in the Netherlands.
*Rumors have it that the Huss Rainbow ride at Elitch Gardens may be removed from the park in order to build a newer ride.
*Apparently Dollywood repopend Timber Tower sometime last week after being closed.
*Rumors are stating that Cedar Fair may make another family attraction for Knott's Barry Farm. Rumors are also saying that the park may build a new roller coaster!

Crazy woman might like Disney's Teacups a little too much!

A woman from Alabama was sentanced to go to jail after choking and beating another woman who was allowed to get on the Teacups ride (Disney's Magic Kingdom) before her. At first the judge allowed her to go, but once he saw the pictures of how bad the beatings were, he sent out an arrest sentance.

Theme park news - July 24, 2007

*After a long time without any fireworks, Thorpe Park will, on November 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, once again have a Fireworks show.
*Knightmare at Camelot (UK) had a small delay, though will open on the 27th of this month.
*Reports are saying that SeaWorld Australia will replace the S.O.S. Planet film with Sesame Street 4D. Also, reports are saying that a new penguin exhibit is being built as well.

Theme park news - July 23, 2007

*Screamscape readers are telling the website that Superman: Tower of Power at Six Flags St. Louis WILL reopen, though the company is adding more sensors to the cables.
*BTTF.com has stated that Universal Studios Hollywood are organizing a press event on August 2nd to start off the countdown of the shut down of Back to the Future: The Ride. The event will feature Doc Brown, the old feller in the film, driving up in a DeLorean "time machine" to set the countdown clock for September 3rd (the final day the ride is open).
*Holiday World (the most family oriented theme park of all time) is hinting on their "HoliBlog" that they are creating a new attraction of some sort near the employee parking lot. For more information on this, including a single picture, go here - Link!

Theme Park updates (July 17, 2007)

*Rumor has it that Tampa's Bush Gardens will get a new coaster in 2009 or 2010. Reports state that it will be a B&M Hypercoaster that will be part of the park's 50th anniversary.
*In more Anheuser-Busch theme park news - More rumors are coming in regarding the SeaWorld coaster that I reported yesterday. People are now saying that the coaster is indeed happening, and that it will be a B&M Flyer.

Theme park news - July 16, 2007

*Rumors say that an Indiana Jones roller coaster might be built at Disney's MGM Studios in Orlando Florida.
*Another coaster rumor that comes in from Orlando - People are reporting that SeaWorld Florida is planning to reveal a new roller coaster in 2008, though reports also say that the coaster probably wouldn't be finished until 2009 or 2010 depending on the depth of the project.
*A new restaurant and garden have been confirmed for Liseberg.
*Legoland Windsor's upcoming attraction Land of the Vikings will apparently be opened on August 9th of this year.
