Movie news

*Holy frick - Rumor has it that Mrs. Scientologist Katie Cruise may star as Wonder Woman. I don't know what I think of this rumor, but as people all over the net are saying - take this with a grain of salt.
*Roland Emmerich to direct remake of Fantastic Voyage for 20th Century Fox.
*Isle of the Dead remake announced, to be made by RKO.
*Say what? Edward Norton to be the... writer of the Hulk (he's also the star of the upcoming movie)?
*Live action The Jungle Book movie announced. Apparently has a $50 budget.
*On my way to Rochester, I was wondering to myself who the &$#% could play Thor in the upcoming movie... Well, as it turns out I couldn't think of anyone. However, two names have popped up all over sites that sound pretty go(o)d to me (I see what I did thar). Here they are - Wrestler turned actor Triple H and (the better choice) Kevin McKidd, the star of the movie 'Rome'. At first it just didn't seem right for Triple H to play as Thor, though that was until I saw this picture!

AHHHH - THOR MOVIE!!!!

Well, it's been a large rumor, though it's now official - A Thor movie is coming! A director, Matthew Vaughn (Stardust), is set! And the movie will start production this Winter!!! Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend) is scripting the film, also!

Possible Thor movie?

The director of X-Men 3, while talking with Ain't It Cool News, stated that there could possibly be a Thor movie some day. I'd love to see a Thor movie, seeing that he's one of my favorite Marvel characters. Once more information on the subject gets out, I'll obviously report on it.

Marvel Characters - Thor

Thor is the powerful god of thunder who is the son of Odin. His father comes to the inclusion early in age that Thor needs to learn humility, and thus places him in the body of a human being (Donald Blake) on planet Earth. The doctor soon later finds Thor's hammer realizes later that he has the power to change into Thor and back again (for those who don't quite understand, it's sort of like how Roland from the Dark Tower series can change into Eddie by going through the door in the second book). Only much later will the real Donald Blake be able to return to his body, when Odin is satisfied with what Thor has become. The events that Thor had to go through made him an honorable, exalted and respected warrior.

Thor is also the son of the Earth Goddess Gaea, and thus Thor feels obligated to defend the planet and its people. While on Earth, he battles fierce villains including the Absorbing Man and the Enchantress. The main antagonist of the series is ultimately Loki, Thor's evil brother. However, Loki is quite genius, and even convinced the Silver Surfer to attack the thunder god, among others such as Ulik and Fafnir. Thanks to Loki though, the Avengers were formed - Loki used the dangerous Hulk to make Thor come out, and following this the Avengers were formed. Thor is one of the main and notable members and founders of the amazing team.

In the second volume of Thor, the god of thunder takes the throne of Asgard, and once he negativly looks at the Earth's people, he reshapes it in his own vision of what the world should be. After a battle is ensued because of this, guilt is thrusted toward Thor, and he resets Earth back to the way it was.

Comic reviews - Thor #2, The Gunslinger Born #7, World War Hulk #3

Gunslinger Born #7

This is it! The final comic in the seven part Gunslinger Born series. Each issue so far has been amazing... probably the best Marvel has had to offer in the past couple of years. The last issue ends with a bang with the final and epic battle. The writing feels just like a Dark Tower book, despite the fact that it's not written by Stephen King. The artwork is just how I imagined it to look like while I read the book years ago. While it was sad to see the series come to an end, it's great to see that they're going to start a new Dark Tower comic series in February 2008!

World War Hulk #3

Recently this five part series has been getting a criticism. While this issue is a pretty good book, I just felt like I've seen the exact same battles before - All Hulk does is smash, smash, smash. Despite this, they somehow manage to jam a whole bunch of text in there, which is pretty enjoyable. It was great to see Doctor Strange, and was quite nail biting once he encountered the Hulk. Also revealed is that Sentry will probably be fighting Hulk... This is something I'm in no way excited for, unless Hulk rips right through the hated hero... man thad't be cool...

Overall, if you're somehow able to find the issue, then get it. It's longer than most of comics out right now, though the down side of this is it costs a buck more as well. The art may not wow you at all, though the writing is pretty good...

Thor #2

The last issue, while good, seemed to be quite short for a debuting issue, and beyond that it had very little dialogue. While this issue seems to be a little longer, the text issue is still here. Thankfully, they have a good writer, though I just couldn't help but notice that I was zooming through the issue. The art is some of the best Marvel has to offer right now, and while the story may seem to go a little slow, it's still pretty good.

ComicCon 2007 - Thor #3: Thor vs. Tony Stark

The battle of two of my favorite characters is at hand! In two months, you'll be able to wittness the epic battle that will ensue once Tony Stark (Iron Man) starts to hear rumors that Thor is back from the dead. The iron knight then goes down to Oklahoma to see if these rumors are true... and they are. Long story short - Thor is ticked off that Iron Man cloned him during the events that took place in Civil War, and he means buisness!

Who do I want to win? This is actually a hard choice... I like them both so much, though seeing that this is Thor's comic... well... you know. But while we're on the topic of Thor, who else hopes that he kills Hulk at the end of World War Hulk? I'm not saying that I don't like Hulk, though it's obvious that he needs to die after these events.
