World War Hulk tie-ins this week

As always, there are tie-ins (or atleast a tie-in, seeing that there is only one) for the huge World War Hulk series going on right now. If you're a fan of the extremely popular series going on, then I'll list some of the tie-in comics of World War Hulk that were released this week.

*Irredeemable Ant-Man #10 - This series is obviously not very popular. Though according to IGN, this isn't that bad of an issue. It features an epic showdown with the Hulk vs. Ant-Man, though it's pretty sad to see such a fight, as the Hulk in reality could squish Ant-Man in a second. Though it really doesn't matter. The only other good thing about this issue despite the epic fight would probably be old man Black Fox stealing Ant-man's Wii.

Halo: Uprising issues 1-3 covers

Just recently three of the Halo: Uprising comics have been revealed. They can be seen below -

MSN's worst cartoons ever?

Oddly, almost every one of these should be considered some of the best - Gooftroops, Transformers, Captain Planet, Pokémon! I mean, they all may not go up to today's standards, though they were still great when they first came out! Grrr, this makes me mad! Anyway, to see the full list, go toooooooo -

The best searh engine.

There is plenty debate on the internet regarding search engines and which one is the best. The obvious contenders are Google, Yahoo, Windows Live Search, and even Ask.com. Which one, in my personal opinion is the best? Well, when it comes to straight out searching for sites and images, I go to Google, no question. Though it sometimes seems that Yahoo has more features - and the main page is pretty fancy.

What do you think? What is the best search engine in your opinion?

Spyro coming to Wii, DS, PS2, and GBA

Sierra announced today that they are bringing the tiny purple dragon to Wii, Nintendo DS, Playstation 2, and the Game Boy Advance in The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. The developers state that they're really excited to continue the re-emergence of one of gaming's most popular characters (I never knew Spyro was considered one of the most popular video gaming characters!). The game will include new attacks, new levels, and new bosses.

What is WALL-E?

For those of you who saw Ratatouille, I'm guessing that you saw the trailer for the upcoming Disney/Pixar movie WALL-E, which obviously stars a robot, and a cute one at that (just look at that picture to the right). You may be waundering what exactly the movie is about. Well, luckily, a while back John Lassester from Diseny gave some beef on the story.

The story of the film is that in the far future of earth, our planet got so covered with filth that we had to create millions of these little robots to clean the place up, and then once its clean enough, we'll be able to come back. Well, in time, all robots except WALL-E failed to do this, and probably died off. He explains that the movie is not a science fiction title, but rather a love story, because WALL-E falls deeply in love with a female robot that comes to Earth.

I never knew that robots had genders....

Which Disney series I want for Kingdom Hearts 3

I'm a huge fan of both Disney and Final Fantasy, so it comes to no surprise that I love Kingdom Hearts. The next installment in the series will be shown off real soon, possibly even at E3 in a few days. With that said, there are sure to be new Disney based series announced, but which ones are currently unknown to the public, which obviously causes much speculation. I'll do some speculation my self and guess, or atleast tell my hopes of which new series will be featured in Kingdom Hearts 3.

*The Incredibles - I was trying to think of a Pixar movie to include, and The Incredibles seems like the only one that really fits.
*Treasure Planet
*20.000 Leagues Under the Sea
*The Sword in the Stone
*The Jungle Book
*The Muppets
*The Emperor's New Groove
*Lilo and Stitch (more than just a summon)

Woman pronounced dead after falling into wavepool.

A woman visiting Holiday World recently lost consciousness and fell into the shallow end of the park's wavepool. The lifeguards at the park quickly pulled her out and tried to revive her, though soon later she was pronounced dead. luckily for the company - she died of heart failure rather than them being responsible.

Mickey's magic wand in Epcot coming down.

It's now official that Mickey's hand and his wand above Epcot's Spaceship Earth is indeed going to come down. They're going to start to take the hand down this week, though the whole thing won't be gone until sometime in October. Once more news comes out, such as exactly why they're tearing it down or when it is down, I'll be sure to post it.

Possible U.S. Phantom Hourglass boxart

The image to the right is possibly the U.S. boxart for The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I'm almost 100% sure this is the real boxart, though sence it hasn't been officially announced yet, I can't confirm anything.

Which characters I want for Transformers 2

All this talk of Transformers got me thinking of the robots for the sequel. Of course we have Optimus, Bumble Bee, and the rest of the AutoBots from the movie, though will there be any new autobots from the classic toy/tv series? Well, I don't know which ones, though I'll post the ones that I do want.

First off, we need another commander along with Optimus Prime. So maybe Ultima Magnus or Alpha Trion. Some other autobots that would fit well are Mirage, maybe the dinobots, and maybe one that can fly or one that can transform into a boat. Now ****SPOILER**** maybe they could also bring Jazz back to life, becasue at the end of the movie, Optimus Prime took a shrapnel piece of the cube out of Megatron****END SPOILER****

Now for the Decepticons, all of the bad robots (other than Starscream) SPOILER-died-END SPOILER, so we obvously need some new antagonists for our heroes. I was thinking of maybe Unicron, and of course Starscream (who, just so you know, is Megatron's second in command) will probably make a return.

Ratatouille wine

Almost all family cartoons feature some sort of products, though I'm sure no one expected Disney to go as far as to distribute wine based off of Pixar's new hit - Ratatouille. The wine, a 2004 white burgundy, will be available at Costco stores on August 1, and will cost $13 a bottle.

Transformers (movie) review.

Transformers had been around since the early 80's, and ever since then they've been a cultural phenomenon, and Optimus Prime was a hero to thousands of kids watching the TV show at the time. About 20 years later, the kids that loved it then are still fans, and when Michael Bay was announced to direct the new film, there were mixed reactions from fans. Michael Bay isn't really considered an amazing director. His films, most notably Pearl Harbor, are so historically inacurate that it often times ruins the films. Bad Boys may be considered good to some, though overall the quaility has been declining. Luckily, Michael Bay is also very good at creating explosions and having car chases, and both of those features are intact here. But overall, how well does the film fair? Let's see!

Allright, the most notable aspect of the movie is that there are super large robots fighting down on earth. The special effects are some of the best that I've ever seen - It looks so real, and so perfect. The first fight with Bumblebee and Barricade worried me at first since it was often times hard to see what was going on, though later fights weren't this way. The fights are just plainly very good, the robots each have their own unique look, and once you first see Optimus Prime in his large semi transformation, you trully get a nostalgic feel, as does everyone else in the theater (everyone was cheering and screaming their heads off during these times).

The acting isn't horrible, though it's not particullarily great either. Some actors are very good, while others tend to fall short. I was surprised though to see that the film made me laugh a whole lot as well.

There were some times when I felt like I couldn't stand the characters, such as the australian woman and the soildier, though thankfully they didn't show them to much. I also couldn't help but notice that Sam Witwicky was a pretty big perve as well. Thankfully though they executed the personallities of the autobots and decepticons very well, and it was very enjoyable (so sometimes odd) to watch them talk. Sometimes though the writers try to make some of the autobots say funny things like "I sence that Sam wants to mate with that female", though it just made me feel rather unconfortable rather than wanting to laugh.

Overall, this was generally a pretty fun movie to watch, and I didn't come here to see a great story.

Acting: 6.5/10
Special Effects: 10/10
Story: 7/10
Overall: 7.5/10

360's Virtua Fighter 5 to have online play.

Sega just announced that the up and coming Xbox 360 version of the popular Virtua Fighter 5 will include online play so that you'll be able to duke it out online with strangers.

Microsoft extends warranty on Xbox 360

Finally Microsoft is extending the warranty on their hot Xbox 360 product after having an "unacceptable number of repairs". This problem has cost the company over 1 billion dollars, which as anyone would know - Is not something to take lightly. If you are a victim of the "red ring of death", then notify Microsoft now.

Some new Lego sets.

This summer there are over 90 new Lego sets that you can buy, and with that said, I obviously won't be able to cover them all in one post or in one day, so each day I'll list a few of the new models, and also give my own opinion on each one.

*Mars Mission: MB-01 Eagle Command Base - This is the main set for the Mars Mission series, and costs $89.99. In all, it features four astronaut minifigures, each one with their own accessories. It also has a rather large rocekt, and as the name suggests a base for the astronauts. Along with that the set has an alien space ship and a few alien minifigures. The set also inclues a missile launcher that can launch four foam missiles. In all there are 763 pieces. In my opinion, this set looks pretty cool, and I'd say that it'd keep the little ones occupied for a long time.

*Lego Batman: The Batcopter: Chas for Scarecrow - This summer there are two new Lego Batman sets, and this one features two flying machines: The Scarecrow's biplane and Batman's Batcopter. It also features two minifigures - One of Batman and one of Scarecrow. It costs $29.99 and has 293 pieces. It may cost a lot for less that 300 pieces, though the models are really well made and it also includes missiles!

*Lego City: LEGO City Harbor - This new set features a large cargo ship as well as a crane and a dock. The towering crane can lift cargos onto the ship. t also includes 5 minifigures, a truck, a jet ski, and much more. It costs $89.99 and there are a total of 661 pieces. From the looks of it, there's a lot going on here, and when I was a kid I know I would've loved to have this.

Worldwide console sales

The worldwide console sales regarding the Wii, Xbox 360, and Playsation 3 just got in, and so far the 360 in the lead (though you should not forget that it also came out a year earlier than the other two).

1st place - Xbox 360 (11.6 million units shipped)
2nd place - Wii (8.10 million+ sold)
3rd place - PS3 (3.6 million+ sold)

Anyone else notice that the 360 says Shipped rather than Sold???

Super Paper Mario to hit Australia September 20

Super Paper Mario, is without a doubt, one of the best Wii games so far, trailing just behind Twilight Princess. We already have the game over here in America, though Australia will have to wait a few months until they get their hands on this gem. September 20th is the new release date for the game in Australia, and the boxart looks very similar to ours, just with the G rating rather than the E for Everyone.

Mimimimimimimimimi....

Bay talks Transformers 2

The new movie was just released, though Bay is already talking about a sequel to Entertainment Weekly. He says he has plenty of cool ideas, and says he doesn't want to give the rights to another director. Though he also says that Transformers 2 won't be his next movie, but will be later down the line.

Lara Croft's webseries

Most videogamers know Lara Croft as the most notable video game heroine (though I have to dissagree with them - Samus Aran and Ms. Pac-Man FTW!). She has a few movies, tons of games, and now she's getting her very own webseries which will air exclusively on Gametap. In all, there will be 10 episodes, each one being probably several minutes long. The new series will debut on July 10th, which as you know is in a few days!

Dark Knight casting call cop

So, a casting call notice has jsut been announced for the upcoming Batman film ''The Dark Knight'', though here's the catch - You HAVE to be a cop to win the part. In the movie, there is apparently going to be an amazing marching scene, and they want real cops, sheriffs, guards, you name it to be in the march.

Are YOU a cop.... probably not, but if you are, then, well, you still probably won't get the part.

Smash Bros. Update - Eldin Bridge

Anyone who played ''The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess'', probably remembers the amazing fight against the King Bulblin and Lord Bullbo. Well, the stage that you fought the two on comes back to ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'' as a stage! On this stage, you'll fight on the flat platform, only later to be attacked by the king himself. He'll plant explosives in the ground to blow them up; though don't worry: The hole from the previous game will be above the bridge and will repair it (so Midna must be here somewhere....).

Anyway, this will probaby be among the coolest stages in the game, that's for sure.

Closing Comments

Well, with that, I'm off for the day. See ya'll.

Gods, Avengers, and Countdowns, oh my!

I've already covered some of the new comics coming out this week, though just so you know - there are many more notable ones. The most notable one of all probably, is the new Thor comic, which I've been anticipating for quite along time now. World War Hulk is still going strong, as is the DC Comics countdown (which is now at #43). IDW Publishing is releasing a whole bunch of Transformers and Star Trek comics for you fans out there, and there are hundereds of others as well. As aforementioned in before posts, the Gunslinger #6, New Avengers/Transformers, and Fallen Son #5 also come out this week, so give them all a check, k!

Transformers: Animated details

This week is a huge week for Transformers fans. A huge new movie based off the series has been released, and along with that new toys based off the movie has been released as well. However, more Transformers are coming, though not until early 2008. Transformers: Animated, is an upcoming TV show that will air on Cartoon Network some time in spring of next year. The series will feature battles between the Autobots and Decepticons, and will also have fan favorite characters such as Optimus Prime, Jazz, Bumble Bee, and the evil ruler of the Decepticons - Megatron. A full list of all confirmed Transformers can be seen below.

AUTOBOTS:
Autobots are the good guys of the story. The Autobots confirmed to be in the show are Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Prowl, Grimlock, Jazz, Arcee, and Ultra Magnus. Along with Grimlock, two other Dinobots will also be featured in the show.

DECEPTICONS:
Decepticons are the antagonists of Transformers. The confirmed Decepticons include Megatron, Starscream, Blitzwing, Lugnut, Blackarachnia, and Shockwave. Skywarp and Thundercracker are possible characters.

Movies opening this week.

New movies for this week.
*Transformers
*Introducing the Dwights
*License to Wed
*Joshua
I've only seen Transformers, and it's probably going to be the only one that I see. As much as I like John Krasinski (one of the stars of The Office) from License to Wed, I won't dare be seeing it from the bad buzz it's been getting.

So, E3 2007 is right around the corner. There are going to be some big things announced, namely at the companies press confrences. As always, Microsoft's press conference is late at night, while Nintendo and Sony's are earlier in the morning.

12 Seven Elevens transformed into Kwik-E-Marts

To promote the upcoming Simpsons movie, Seven Eleven has transformed 12 of their gas stations into the popular store from the Simpsons. Inside the selected stores are popular products from the series including Radioactive Man comic books, squishees, and more. Inside the grocery stores are workers dressed up as characters from the actual show.

Fallen Son #5 - Iron Man released

Wow, today a lot of good comics are being released. Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America #5 - Iron Man, has been released today. IGN says it's a must read, and with that said I'll have to pick it up, along with Transformers/Avengers and the Gunslinger Born. In this comic book Captain America gets burried.

R.I.P. Cap

The good, the so-so, the bad, and the ugly.

I don't know why, but I just felt like making a list of good things, so-so things, bad things, and ugly things regarding games, movies, etc... this year.

THE GOOD:
*Super Paper Mario
*Marvel's Civil War
*Transformers
*That Rat movie
*The Gunslinger Born
*Shrek the Third
*SimCity DS
*Fables

THE SO-SO:
*DC Comics countdown
*Mighty Avengers

THE BAD:
*Spider-Man 3
*Evan Allmighty
*Shigeru Miyamoto claiming he could of made Halo

THE UGLY:
*Sales of the PS3
*Sega making yet again more crappy games.
*My DS getting even more scratched up.

Exploding cell phones claimes a victim.

About three weeks ago, a cell phone exploded in a man's chest pocket, sending fragments into his heart. Yesterday, the man died. Some peeps in China claim that the high rising heat was to blame, though an investigation is currently underway. Oddly, people are having a bad time telling which model the phone was, since it was so badly damaged.

Usualy when cell phones explode (which is, you know, an every day thing), it's the casue of off brand batteries, which is probably the case here. According to Forbes, six such accidents have occured in the past 2 years in China.

R.I.P. Xiao Jinpeng....

Halo 3 to appear on the cover of next EGM.

According to the new issue of EGM (featuring some Soul Calibur info), the next issue will feature plenty of info on Microsoft's big game of the year: Halo 3. Among other feautres includes some tasty info on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Matt Groening to be last boss in the Simpsons.

In the upcoming Simpsons games for most consoles, the creator of The Simpsons revealed that he will be the last boss in the game. It is unknown whether or not it'll just be his voice or actually have his appearance. I'm hoping for the latter, so I can beat him up for ruining The Simpsons...

New MGS4 trailer debuting at E3

Metal Gear Solid 4 is quite possibly the most anticipated game for this next gen, and as you probably expected, a new trailer will be debuting at E3 next week during Sonys/Konami's press conferences.

Cloverfield?

J.J. Abrams, creator of Lost, is now making a movie called Cloverfield (just a codename). The trailor debuted during the previews of Transformers, and from what I saw, it looks as if a monster was raging through the streets of New York City, spewing fire balls all over. While you couldn't exactly see the monster, you could hear him roaring to high heavens, and you could see fire going all over the place. It was pretty neat-o, and since I'm a fan of Lost, I'll probably check out this film as well.

Who was the monster though? Is it a brand new monster created by J.J. Abrams, or is it possibly a classic one such as Godzilla? I'm hoping for the latter, since I not only want a decent Godzilla movie (not the crap that was the 1998 film), but also because when I was a kid, Godzilla was my hero, my idol, I just used to love him to death, and always watched the cheezy Japanese films (and always skipped to the good parts).

The Gunslinger Born comic, issue 6 out.

Along with the Transformers/Avengers comic, an even better book in a series comes out today as well. The Gunslinger Born, issue 6 comes out today, and is the sixth of seven books in a series. I have the other five so far, and the art and writing is simply amazing, and truly captures Stephen King's writing perfectly. If you're not a comic reader, or are simply wanting to start reading comics, then check out this series, because in time it will probably be as classic as the Watchmen.

The Gunslinger Born is based off of Stephen King's wonderful seven book The Dark Tower series.

Weed killing robot.

With all this excitement of Transformers and robots, it was only a matter of time before someone created a robot that kills weeds. Here's a quote for all you punks -

"According to the Ludington Daily News, Michigan, Danish agricultural engineers have built a robot to help farmers with weeds. The Hortibot is about 3-foot-by-3-foot, is self-propelled, and uses global positioning system (GPS). It can recognize 25 different kinds of weeds and eliminate them by using its weed-removing attachments. It's also very environmentally friendly because it can reduce herbicide usage by 75 percent. But so far, it's only a prototype and the Danish engineers need to find a manufacturer for distribution."

Pretty cool if you ask me. If it can mow the lawn and print money then I'm sold.

Legoland thinking of Illinois.

Those whom have been keeping up with the new Legoland thempark news should know that Oakland Park in Kansas (which happens to be very close to where I live), said that they won't be supporting the park, so Lego is looking elsewhere. They are now thinking of Columbia, Illinois. This doesn't mean that it's certainly going there, though it is a high possibility.

What I'll be covering.

I thought that before I go on just ranting, I shoud atleast tell you what I'll be talking about in the blog. So I'll compile a list.
*Video Games (Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, and on rare occasions PC)
*Comics (Marvel, DC, and the others)
*Movies
*TV (very rare though, just when I feel like it)
*Theme Parks (oh how I love theme parks)
*Books (Mostly just ones I'm interested it, though I'll try my best to keep up with new releases)

Mostly I'll just cover video games and comics, though I'll keep up with every thing else on the list as well.

SimCity DS

People are really hating on this game. I bought it a few weeks ago, and I really enjoy it. While it does make me mad that you can only have one saved file, it's still a decent enough game, and one that you should probably buy if you're going on a long rode trip. Also, there are plenty of real life buildings that you can get as well, though you need cheats for them (check out Gamefaqs.com). I just felt like saying that...

Transformers and that rat movie

What, two Transformers updates in one day? You don't say... Anyway, I'm sure everyone here has seen the Transformers movie, and if you haven't, well then, I guess I don't really care. I saw it yesterday, and I have to say it was a pretty good film, better than the crap that was Spider-Man 3. I also say Ratatooolieeraerrrrrr whatever when it first came out, and out of every Pixar movie that I've seen (which happens to be every single one), this is the best. Two great movies to go out and see. If I'm in the mood later on, I might post a review on both.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl update - Smash Attacks.

Nintendo fans probably know that every day (other than Saturday and Sunday), they are able to wake up and find one new bit of information about the upcoming Wii video game Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Well, todays update is something that everyone probably already knew about: You can still, as always in past installments, perform smash attacks. The images featured shows Mario with a fist and foot that is beyond huge, and also shows Zero Samus and Link duking it out. While it's not as precious as some of the other posts this week (Bowser in brawl, Giga Bowser is Bowser's Final Smash, and the Assist Trophies), it is still information and it's better than nothing.

Transformers/Avengers comic.

Alright, the new Transformers/Avengers comic comes out today, and as you could guess - It features Autobots and the New Avengers against the Decepticons and possibly Dr. Doom. It should also be noted that the comic takes place before Marvel's Civil War, meaning that Captain America is still alive, and Iron Man isn't hated. Anyway, once I pick up the comic at, errr, the Gatekeeper, I'll tell you what I think of it.

Bentendo64

Alright, hello there, and welcome to Bentendo64 (a neat-o twist on Nintendo 64). I was going to call it plain ol' Bentendo, though some F-R-E-A-K all ready has the name, and guess what else - He hasn't posted in like, two years! Anyway... this is mainly just for my own pleasure, just so I can write about Nintendo news myself. I'm sure that maybe some day some people will come in and check it out, though I couldn't care less if they didn't (but I would, I guess, like it if they did). Anyway, E3 is almost here, and I've been getting really hyped up for it, so I made this blog... Oh boy!
