Back in the 80's Spider-Man obtained a black suit that ended up being an alien being. The being, best known as Venom, or even the symbiote, tried to bond with Peter Parker, though ultimately, once he realized the power it held, he discarded it. However, the symbiote was long from dead, in fact, after being rejected by Parker, it latched itself onto Eddie Brock, who worked for the Daily Globe. He was fired from his job after he identified the wrong man as a murderer, which Peter noted to the newspaper's editors. The depressed man also had a bad case of cancer, and at one time decided to comit suicide. However, once the symbiote merged with Brock, his cancer went away, and the man became a powerful enemy.Though within time, his cancer returned, so he sold the suit to a crime boss, who gave it to his son. The son was infected by it, and he went off to kill Spider-Man. While battling him, the symbiote neglected it's new victim, and deserted him. After this, the man fell to his death.
The current Venom is Mac Gargan, who was previously known as the Scorpion. As Venom, he is much more powerful and deadly then before.
