Anticipated game of the day: The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has already been released in Japan and has been deemed by many as the best Zelda game of all time. If what these people say is true, then logically doesn't that make Phantom Hourglass the BEST game of all time? I'd say so, because undoubtably Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, A Link to the Past, and even the Wind Waker are some of the greatest and most notable of games, surpassing classics such as Halo, Grand Theft Auto, and Metroid by far. Some may even consider Ocarina of Time to be better than Super Mario 64, though it's generally been accepted that the latter game was and still is more important to the industry.

Now I'm sure that most people were, or even still are skeptical about this game and most definately the way it plays - As you control Link via the stylus; whether it be running around, slashing your sword, or choosing items, you do it all with the DS' stylus. However, most every one who's played the game have said it works brilliantly, and some (MTV) have gone as far as to say that Phantom Hourglass was the best game shown at E3 this year, making it more notable then the hundreds of games shown. Respected game journalist Chris Kohler of Wired magazine stated that the controls feel totally natural, and states that the game is classic Nintendo.

The game also includes a uniqe multiplayer mode that you can not only play with your friends, but also people around the globe via Nintendo's Wifi service.

The game will be released in just a few months, on October 1 here in the Americas, and on October 19 in Europe. No set release date has been announced for the Aussies other than "holiday 2007".
