Best games of all time: Super Mario World

Super Mario World is a SNES video game that was released during the consoles launch. There are multiple things that make the game so perfect. The gameplay is tight and spot on, and the new power-ups, not to mention the brilliant addition of Yoshi added more to the sidescrolling Mario series then probably any game following or preceding this one, other than of course the original Super Mario Bros. The game has been noted by many as one of the greatest platform games of all time, and that position still stands despite games like New Super Mario Bros. and others being released.

The story is simple and nothing other than simple - Princess Peach, Mario, and Luigi are going to Dinosaur Land via a balloon for a nice vacation. Mario just saved the princess previously when he traversed the eight kingdoms to save all of the transformed kings and save the princess at the end, so it's good to have a rest.

Typically, Bowser has already returned and has planned to use the oil resources on Dinosaur Land to go big. He incased all of the Yoshies, the island's inhabitants, into eggs, and has already started to claim the island as his own by putting his children in charge of seven of the separated lands.

Once Bowser learns that the princess he desires so much has arrived on the island, he quickly orders her to be kidnapped, and she is within minutes of arriving. Now, the brothers must go through this new area in search of not only the princess, but also the trapped Yoshies once they learn of them.

Now on the subject of Yoshi, let's talk about his special abilities and what he contributed to the outstanding series. You'll find Yoshi within a few minutes of playing. Once you do, you'll then be able to perform Yoshi's abilities, which include being able to eat most enemies. Also, depending on the Yoshi color you're currently riding, you'll be able to use special moves once you collect certain Koopa Troopa shells.

Super Mario World quite possibly be my favorite game of all time. If you haven't played the game, then go out and do so. If you have the game but haven't found all 96 exits, then do so now.

NOTE: NOT YET FINISHED!

Sigh... A classic beyond it's time... A true sequil would be nice. Yoshis Island was great, but it and it's sequils were not the same...

In my opinion, Yoshi's Island MAY have been better, though in reality it trully wasn't a true sequal, nor a true prequel, as the gameplay was very different..
